The Day the World Stood Still (October 10th, 2021)
On August 3rd, 2021, Babymetal dropped a bombshell on their Facebook account that left fans slack-jawed in disbelief. The message was cryptic, haunting, and felt like a punch to the gut:
“REVELATION FROM THE FOX GOD… Together with all 10 episodes of METAL RESISTANCE coming to a close, the 10-year legend will be sealed from the world. Until that seal is broken, BABYMETAL will disappear from our sight.”
Talk about a plot twist! It was like watching your favorite anime series end on a massive cliffhanger with no Season 2 in sight. The band announced they would be embarking on their “Stairway to Living Legend,” leaving us all wondering: Is this really the end?
A Haunting Farewell at the Budokan
As the clock struck midnight on October 10th, 2021, a new version of "The One" appeared on YouTube. If you didn’t have tissues ready, you weren't doing it right! The video opened with words that felt like a final benediction:
”The 3 metal spirits that have been shining since 2010, even if they were to leave Earth, would continue to shine forever in our hearts and across the metal galaxy."
The video is an absolute masterclass in emotional storytelling. It starts with a hauntingly sweet piano solo, a single pinprick of light illuminating SU-METAL as she stands alone in an empty Budokan. For those of us who have followed their journey from tiny stages to global arenas, it was a "history lesson that’ll blow your mind" condensed into six minutes of pure, raw emotion.
Sadly absent was the physical presence of Yui-Metal, but the Fox God didn't forget her.
At the end of the video, she was represented as the third shooting star ascending into the heavens alongside Su and Moa. It was a beautiful, savage, and sweet tribute to the trinity that started it all.

We were left at the bottom of that stairway, looking up into the darkness. But as we've learned, the Fox God is always playing 4D chess while everyone else is stuck on checkers!
🚀 2026 UPDATE: The Legend Reborn!
If you're reading this in 2026, you know that "the seal" wasn't a tomb: it was a cocoon! NOTHING could keep Babymetal down for long. Here is the "knowledge bomb" for anyone who missed the resurrection:
1. The Seal is Broken (2023)
In early 2023, the Fox God finally gave the signal. The silence was shattered with the release of the conceptual masterpiece album "THE OTHER ONE." It wasn't just a new album; it was a multiversal exploration of Babymetal’s identity.
